Yesterday I encountered a gentleman wearing a “Jesus is King” T-shirt at Publix grocery store. I told him that Jesus is my King. He proceeded to say that Jesus is coming back to make war this time, not peace. I have been pondering what he said.
Sadly, I believe that many think that Jesus is coming back to make war with man. They think they are operating as one of Jesus’ soldiers, when they are fulfilling the purpose of the father of lies (the accuser of the brethren). These are called wolves in sheep’s clothing, they do much damage to The Church.
Jesus is coming back to make war with the principalities and powers that rule the earth. The ones who began at the time of our birth trying to destroy our identity and skew our view of God. Jesus is coming back to defeat that adversary of our souls. Jesus is coming back to establish things on earth as they are in Heaven. Jesus is coming back to rule and reign. The time is now, and the harvest is truly plentiful.
People are seeking to know the meaning of life; to know that their lives matter, that they were created by God for a purpose and they have value. They need to know that they are not defined by what happens to them in their lives but by The Living God (The Creator of the heavens and the earth). Who by His Word framed the Universe. Who by His Word speaks life into existence (His Word cannot be redefined). Who by His breath raised Jesus from the dead. Whose death on the cross defeated the power of the adversary of our souls. Who by His resurrection sets us free from the power of sin.
God desires to take us back to a depth of intimacy that He had with Adam and Eve before the Fall where sin (sickness, disease, death, anything that causes us or our loved one’s harm) entered the world. Where we took on a sin nature, making us unable to be in relationship with Holy God whose arm is outstretched saying, “come to Me, all who are weary and heavily burdened [by religious rituals that provide no peace], and I will give you rest [refreshing for your souls with salvation].
